This post is just really self gratuitous but I’m very emotional over this. Typically when being taught self-defense and one of the scenarios is somebody putting you in a front choke hold there are a couple of maneuvers for you to execute so you can break free. One is that you try to bend back the assailant’s thumbs since it’s easy to dislocate/break the thumbs that way. Another is to pull the the assailant’s hand towards you then strike upwards at their face, knee them in the stomach, or just go for the eyes.
I’m not sure if Steve’s working on getting to those moves or what but at that proximity it seems like striking Bucky in the face with his palm would have been possible. But Steve seems to just be cupping his hand over Bucky’s and he’s struggling but he’s not struggling to fight Bucky off. His hands are not really flexed or strained or anything. If this was intentional, it looks that Steve isn’t trying to fight Bucky.
that is because he isn’t trying to fight Bucky….I think he has already subconsciously recognized the fighting style/moves of the man who has him in the hold and he just doesn’t/cannot believe it….
I am dying over here….simply dying….
Or maybe he has a fucking mechanical arm, just saying.
Steve LITERALLY says that Winter Solider has a metal arm and then in the next scene of the trailer he punches a window out and rips out a steering wheel. Not to mention the opening scene shows Bucky, shirtless, with a mechanical arm. Pretty sure there was a clip where he used his own fucking arm as brakes. I highly doubt Steve could do that without hurting himself. At least a sprain or something. Do fangirls just completely forget everything so they can take one gif and make a long, sappy post that has nothing to do with actually going on or…?
Also, Department X most likely made Winter Solider able to withstand against Captain America. Hence why Steve can’t break Bucky’s arm or hold. Hence why Steve looks like he is actually choking. Hence why he is struggling. See where this is going? I mean, if you’re going to be throwing out theories at least stick with facts first.
I’m pretty sure in all the Captain America movies I’ve seen he is a defensive fighter anyways, choosing brain over brawn despite his beefed up appearance (because some fangirls seem to forget that Steve is actually quite brainy and resourceful, scrappy). He focuses more on using his strength to protect his friends and citizens rather than using that strength to punch around the bad guy.
But I don’t know. Since I don’t see anything sappy or emotional here other than a guy who has a mechanical arm choking out Captain America, I might be wrong.
Just so we’re clear if I say “shut up” and you say “make me” I am instantly thinking about making out with you
also just so we’re clear if you say “shut up” and i say “make me” that is most definitely an invitation to make out with me
